About Us

The Culinary Education Center (CEC) is a nonprofit training center that prepares individuals for sustainable careers in New York and New Jersey’s food service and hospitality industries. Through hands-on programs, technical training, and industry certifications, we help students gain the skills they need to succeed in kitchens, hotels, and corporate settings.
Founded through a partnership between food service employers and UNITE HERE Local 100, CEC bridges the gap between education, labor, and industry. Our inclusive approach celebrates culinary heritage while supporting workforce development and economic mobility across the region.
